MORRISTOWN, NJ — Despite some lingering warm temperatures, fall is approaching, and with it, the beloved Morristown Festival on the Green returns later this month to kick off the autumn celebrations.

The annual Festival on the Green will take place on Sept. 29 from 12 to 5 p.m., rain or shine.

As in previous years, this year's event is expected to draw approximately 150 local businesses, restaurants, and community organizations. It will feature a range of attractions for all ages, including live music, kid-friendly activities, fitness classes, carnival games and a beer tent.

Since its debut in 1994, the festival on the Morristown Green has drawn tens of thousands of visitors from all around Northern New Jersey, offering continuous entertainment on up to three stages for attendees of all ages.

The event will showcase music and entertainment throughout the afternoon across four key areas: the Green, the Main Stage at DeHart and South Streets, the Sound Stage at Morris Street and Dumont Place and the Beer Tent at Schuyler Place.

The main stage will feature the Heart of Gold Band from 1 to 5 p.m.

The Concert on the Green, set in the heart of the historic Morristown Green, will present classical favorites with the Stone Soup Symphony Orchestra from noon to 1:30 p.m., followed by the MPAC Select Program from 2 to 3 p.m.

At the Sound Stage, TropyBand Orquesta will perform from 12:30 to 2 p.m., and Shorty Long & The Jersey Horns will take the stage from 3 to 5 p.m., according to event organizers.

The popular Beer Tent at Schuyler Place will serve as a pit stop for music fans, football enthusiasts and cornhole players. Visitors 21 and older will be able to purchase a selection of beers and White Claw cocktails, officials said.

Families with younger children can enjoy carnival games on North Park Place and visit Kids Place on Speedwell Avenue. Activities will include an inflatable corn maze, a double-lane slide, a three-lane obstacle course and more.

Family-friendly entertainment, which proved successful last year, will return once again for 2024 in Kids Place.

Attendees can enjoy the Family Jam platform, featuring a lineup of acts including Dinosaurs Arise from 12:30 to 2 p.m., Polka Dot! from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., and Wallaby Tales from 3:45 to 4:45 p.m.

The event is a true testament to a community rich in national history and local pride," local officials said.
