Former NJ Supreme Court Justice Speaking In Morristown Friday

FLORHAM PARK, NJ — Former New Jersey Supreme Court Justice Jaynee LaVecchia is the keynote speaker for the Morris County Chamber of Commerce event on Friday in Morristown.

A luncheon held by the Women in Business Program of the Morris County Chamber of Commerce will host LaVecchia's talk titled, "A Lifetime in the Law — Insights from New Jersey's Longest-Serving Female Justice." The event is at the Westin Governor Morris Hotel in Morristown, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday.

LaVecchia, currently a partner at the law firm McCarter & English, served as a New Jersey Supreme Court justice for 21 years and remains the longest-serving female justice in court history. During her career on the court, she presided over hundreds of cases and authored numerous opinions on critical issues still impacting New Jersey’s most prominent industries today.

In her talk, LaVecchia will share some of the challenges she has overcome since beginning her public service career in 1984 and touch on her belief in the importance of adaptability. She will also speak on how to give — and receive — help gracefully, according to a news release.
