Guns, Ammo, Drugs Lead To Morris Co. Man's Prison Sentence

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — A Morris County man has been sentenced to five years in New Jersey State Prison for previous gun and drug charges, authorities said.
Kenneth Calvey Jr., 21, of the Borough of Victory Gardens, pled guilty on April 18 to one count of possession of a firearm while committing a controlled dangerous substance offense, a second-degree crime, according to officials.
The Morris County Narcotics Task Force began an investigation after a court-authorized search warrant was carried out at Calvey Jr.

The Narcotics Task Force seized nearly one pound of raw marijuana, multiple THC vapes, drug distribution paraphernalia, a double-barrel long gun, a handgun with a loaded magazine, and additional ammunition during an investigation.
During the search, detectives also recovered approximately $6,908, authorities said.

According to Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll, Calvey Jr. was sentenced on June 1 to five years in New Jersey State Prison with a 42-month period of parole ineligibility by Judge Stephen J. Taylor.
