How Much Rain Did Morristown Get During Monday's Storms?
The rain fell hard and fast throughout Morris County. Here are the inch counts.
MORRISTOWN, NJ — The rain fell hard and fast across Morris County on Monday, but the amount of precipitation varied from town to town due to the nature of thunderstorm systems.
The National Weather Service Mount Holly office had two rainfall totals reported for the greater Morristown area. One was 2.95 inches, and the second was 1.86 inches.
Nearby, Parsippany got 4.30 inches of rain, while Randolph had the highest total in the county, receiving 5.41 inches during Monday's storm.

And more rain is in the forecast for the week. According to the National Weather Service, Morris County can expect rain throughout the week.
Forecasters predict showers and thunderstorms before 11 a.m. on Tuesday, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after that. Some storms may produce small hail, strong winds, and heavy rain.

On Wednesday, there is a chance of showers and thunderstorms, followed by showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 1 p.m. Except in thunderstorms, new rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch are possible.
The National Weather Service has also issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook alert for all of Morris County, which is expected to last through Wednesday.
