Local Restaurant Relocation On Morris Township Planning Docket
Sandi's Soulbites Restaurant might be relocating and taking over the former Hunan Chinese Room location.

MORRIS TOWNSHIP, NJ — Sandi's Soulbites, a local restaurant, might be moving, according to official planning board documents.
The restaurant, which opened its doors in 2019 at 82 Speedwell Ave., in Morristown, has filed an application to renovate and reopen at a new location in Morris Township.
Sandi's Soulbites will retain the same name while renovating the space at 255 Speedwell Avenue, formerly known as Hunan Chinese Room.

Sandi's, which briefly closed during the COVID-19 pandemic, recently decided to remain open only to fulfill catering orders and offer weekend brunches for the remainder of their lease term at their current location.
The announcement of the switch, which was made this past June, was blamed in part because of internal staffing issues, according to a social media post made by the restaurant.
The site plan is expected to be heard by the Morris Township Planning Board at the Nov. 21 meeting, which is set to begin at 7 p.m.
