Man Peering Into Morris Township Home Was A Delivery Driver: Police

Morris Township police have since confirmed that the "suspicious" man was simply a delivery man.

UPDATE: The Morris Township police have since confirmed that the "suspicious" man was actually just a delivery man. "The party has been identified as a result of our social media post, and it was learned that it was a delivery person that was looking to speak with someone to assist in locating a residence. He left when he realized the parties were startled by his presence," Chief Robert Shearer said.

MORRIS TOWNSHIP, NJ — Morris Township police are currently investigating the report of a man peering into the garage of a home located on the west side of town.

According to Chief Robert Shearer, the man, who was caught on a security tape, fled the scene shortly after being seen on camera.

On Monday, Jan. 23, a resident of Morris Township was driving to her home on the west side of the city when she noticed a man standing behind her and looking into the garage as she pulled into her driveway, police said.

Shearer stated that the police are actively investigating this case and would like to remind all residents to report any suspicious activity immediately.

"We remind residents to be please be aware of their surroundings, and contact the police department with anything that appears to be suspicious so that we investigate it," police said.
