More Cops, More Development, Less Taxes: Morristown's 2016 Budget Unveiled
Sixth consecutive spending plan has no increase to residents, report says.

MORRISTOWN, N.J. – For the sixth consecutive year, Morristown residents won’t see an increase in their municipal property taxes. Even better, they’ll see a decrease.
Mayor Tim Dougherty unveiled the $52.1 million 2016 Morristown budget, which won’t see final approval until May, that boasts a $70 savings annually for an average homeowner with a property assessed at $354,000, morristowngreen.com reported.
Inside that budget comes expenses for two new police officers, the continuation of developing Washington Street, and coming up with a traffic study, the report said.
