Intoxicated Morris Co. Man Hit-And-Run Near Train Station: Police

According to police, a Morris County man was charged with DWI and leaving the scene after hitting a pedestrian in Hoboken on Saturday.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — A 26-year-old Morris County man was arrested Saturday night after allegedly hitting a pedestrian near the Hoboken train station and leaving the scene, police said.

Paul Holt, of Flanders, was arrested Saturday at approximately 7:45 p.m. in the area of River Street and Hudson Place, police said.

He was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, open container, leaving the scene of an accident, failure to provide insurance and assault by auto.

Police said the last charge was "for striking a pedestrian that was crossing the street." They added, "After striking the pedestrian the vehicle fled the scene, however, it was later located by police in the area."

The victim, whose identity has not been released by police, was taken to a local hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Holt was processed and later released to a responsible party, police said.
