RANDOLPH, NJ — A Morris County middle school principal has pleaded guilty to child abuse after he was accused of soliciting sex from a teenage student, according to reports.

Paul Iantosca, 52, pled guilty to one child abuse charge, as part of a plea deal that saw attempted luring and attempted sexual assault charges get dropped, NJ.com reported. He could face up to 18 months in jail, but will likely receive probation.

Iantosca has arranged to meet up with the teen for oral sex, but the teen never showed up; instead, police arrived and arrested, Iantosca the Daily Record reported.

The messages did not take place on school grounds, and the teen was not a current student at Valleyview, Denville superintendent Steven Forte told Patch shortly after Iantosca was arrested.

Iantosca worked as an educator for 25 years, and as of 2019 was making $153,548.
