Armed Robbery At Morris Co. Deli, Customer Held At Gunpoint: Prosecutor’s Office
The suspect restrained a customer at gunpoint before demanding money, according to police.
MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — A Wharton man has been arrested after robbing a local deli at gunpoint, the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office announced.
Dwayne A. Brown, 27, of Wharton, was arrested this weekend after robbing a deli on Richards Avenue in Dover at gunpoint, officials said.
On Saturday, June 28, at around 11 a.m., Dover police responded to a call of an armed robbery at the deli.

Police said an employee reported a masked suspect entered the deli with a handgun, who restrained a customer while pointing the gun at him.
The gunman then turned the weapon on two employees, demanding money, authorities said.

The employees turned over $360, and the suspect exited the store and escaped the scene in a getaway car, according to police.
After further investigation, police identified Brown as the suspect and arrested him the following day.
Brown is charged with three counts of robbery, one count of unlawful possession of a weapon (handgun), one count of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and three counts of aggravated assault (pointing a firearm at an individual).
“The public should be assured that crimes of violence will be met with a coordinated, persistent, and effective police response until resolution,” Morris County Prosecutor Robert Carroll said in a statement.
