MORRIS PLAINS, NJ — As part of an old, unspoken rivalry between two neighboring states, New York has long claimed to be the world's bagel capital, but many New Jerseyans would disagree.

Food writer Jeremy Schneider praised the shop's wheat bagel with garden vegetable cream cheese.
"I've eaten bagels all over NYC and have yet to find one that's better than TFAB," one commenter said.
"When I worked in the city, I used to occasionally bring them in for my tri-state, co-workers. The feedback was often -- 'where did you get these delicious bagels?' Expecting me to name a NYC establishment...I proudly said, Morris Plains," another agreed.
Time for a Bagel has been serving fresh hand-rolled bagels since 1996 and offers 23 different types of bagels and 20 different spreads, including fun flavors like Horseradish and Olive Pimento.
The second choice option for many readers was Morristown Bagel and Deli, which is located at 121 Morris Street.
"Currently, hands down, the best bagels can be gotten from Morristown Bagel and Deli. From the 'quirky' counter guys to the great variety of choices, these bagels are plump, tasty and about as authentic as you can get," Don G. from Morristown said.
