Morristown Homicide Update: 2 Arrested, Victim Identified
The two arrested are accused of not helping the murder victim, according to police.
MORRISTOWN, NJ — Two suspects have been arrested following a homicide investigation relating to a dead body found in Morristown near the railroad tracks, the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office announced.
Enrique “Flaco” Vega, 33, and Cassandra West, 31, received several charges relating to the death of Stanley M. Robinson, 65, of Dover. Officials said the accused were homeless and were known to frequent the Morris County area.
The investigation opened up last Friday, June 13, when police found Robinson's dead body at Patriots Path and Cory Road by the railroad tracks. The death was deemed ‘suspicious’ by authorities.

Investigators believe that Vega and West were present during a physical altercation between Robinson and an individual with the initials R.E. Robinson was left “severely injured,” and the two accused did not seek medical assistance for him, officials said.
According to authorities, Robinson’s cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head, and clues indicated “the manner of death to be homicide.”

Authorities said that Vega and West went to the Red Carpet Inn in Hanover at some point after the incident, and believe that Vega stole $2,500 from the establishment’s cash register while West acted as a look-out.
Investigators also believe that on Saturday, June 14, the accused discovered R.E. dead in an empty home on Ridgedale Avenue in Hanover. West is suspected of tampering with the scene by “discarding an empty heroin fold she located near R.E.’s body,” officials said.
Police discovered R.E.’s body in the Hanover residence on Monday, June 16, officials said. R.E.’s cause of death is pending, and an examination revealed no physical trauma to the body, according to authorities.
Vega and West were arrested on Monday, June 16, at the Road Street rail station in Newark and transported to the Morristown Police Department, officials said.
The two received several charges regarding the incidents on June 17.
In connection with the Morristown incident, Vega and West were charged with endangering an injured victim and defiant trespass.
In connection with the burglary at the Red Carpet Inn, Vega has been charged with conspiracy to commit burglary, burglary, and theft. West has been charged with conspiracy to commit burglary and conspiracy to commit theft.
In connection with the Hanover residence incident, both Vega and West were charged with criminal trespass, and West has been charged with tampering with evidence.
Both accused are being held in custody awaiting court proceedings, officials said.
The investigation into Robinson’s death is still ongoing, according to police.
