Morristown Mayor Recovering From Heart Attack
Morristown Mayor Tim Dougherty spent part of the weekend in the hospital after suffering a heart attack.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — Morristown Mayor Tim Dougherty is on the mend after suffering a heart attack over the weekend.
Dougherty was being treated at Morristown Medical Center after a Saturday afternoon heart attack, which he described as "mild." Wife Mary said that Dougherty said that the blockage was cleared, and "he’s on the road to recovery and will be better than new in a couple of days!"
"I’m feeling much better, and if my condition continues to improve at the same rate, I should be released from the hospital [Monday]. Once again, thank you for your thoughts and prayers," Dougherty said. Doctors inserted a stint after removing the blockage, he said.

Both Doughertys stressed the importance of immediately going to the hospital once detect icing the symptoms of a heart attack.
"I’m so proud of him for listening to his body and getting to the hospital immediately when having symptoms of a heart attack," Mary Dougherty said.
