Democrat Sandi Mayer shares why she is running for election on the Morristown Town Council in 2023.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — Morristown's primary election on June 6 has six candidates running for the open Morristown Town Council Ward seats.
Incumbent Sandi Mayer is one of the two Democrats running for a seat in the fourth ward. Mayer is running against sole Republican Bruce Meringolo and Christopher Russo.
In anticipation of the election, Patch sent questionnaires to each of the candidates vying for the open seats, asking them to share facts about themselves and why voters should choose them to represent the community.

To continue my work on the council and maintain the downtown’s charm and character.

Quality of life issues. Each issue is unique and should be addressed with care and consideration. Maintaining our parks and tree canopy to preserve our environment and natural resources is essential to a thriving community.
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
My honesty and integrity. My involvement with the community as an ongoing leader. My background as a law-abiding citizen.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this post?
My work as council president to pass the Land Development Ordinance to retain and maintain the business district while promoting new and existing businesses. My work with the different parks groups to preserve our parks system. My involvement with outside activities that promote Morristown’s businesses.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
My hard work for the past 3.5 years as council representative for ward 4 has been done for the residents that elected me and for the people of Morristown. I will continue to do my best and continue to be available for my constituents as I have always been.
