Musica Morristown Readies for Second Season
Regional arts program returns with 'Carmen' on Sept. 30.

When the Westfield Symphony Orchestra and New Philharmonic of New Jersey joined forces last year, the intent was to create a program that would cut costs, increase revenue and double audiences.
With the success of , its second season has been announced. The program begins Sept. 30 with " continues with the program's and concludes with "New Beginnings" in June 2013. All performances will be held at at The College of St. Elizabeth.
"Two orchestras coming together like this to fuse their organizations has not happened for over 35 years," Music Director David Wroe said last year. He said that the collaboration could aid both groups in surviving the “economic tsunami" that has hit the arts community in the last few years.

A year after its debut, Wroe said the company has been overwhelmed by its reception.
"Thank you, our prized supporters, for securing our inaugural season," he said. "We can promise you all that this is just the beginning."
