New Footage Shows Missing Morris Co. Teacher Exiting Car
Lara Emanuele has been missing for three weeks, and police are concerned about her well-being.
MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — Morris County officials are still searching for a Morristown teacher who has been missing for three weeks.
According to the Roxbury Police Department, Lara Emanuele, 46, was reported missing on June 7 after she had not returned home from work. She teaches third grade at Alexander Hamilton Elementary School in Morristown.
In the three weeks since her disappearance, authorities have searched the Berkshire Valley State Wildlife Management Area, which borders the Mount Arlington Holiday Inn Express, where the woman's vehicle was discovered abandoned.

According to the prosecutor's office, police discovered Emanuele's phone in her abandoned vehicle.
On surveillance video from the Holiday Inn, authorities also saw Emanuele exit her vehicle in the parking lot alone and leave of her own free will.

"Emanuele’s disappearance is not considered suspicious, but there is concern for her wellbeing. As Emanuele has not been located, the investigation remains open," the Morris County Prosecutor’s Office said.
According to Meghan Knab, a spokeswoman for the Morris County Prosecutor's Office, the coordinated search operation will continue and has been underway daily since June 8.
"The Morris County Prosecutor’s Office ordinarily does not share details regarding ongoing investigations. While the investigation has not yet concluded, these details are being shared in the interest of transparency as there has been a great deal of inquiry related to this case," authorities said.
The search is in addition to a thorough investigation by the MCPO Missing Persons Unit, the Roxbury Police Department and other agencies.
So far, the investigation has included a review of multiple sources of video surveillance, a review of digital communications, canvassing in several locations, interviews and other standard procedures.
"We know Ms. Emanuele was a special person, evident in the outpouring of support and offers to help this case has generated. Regrettably, her disappearance has also spawned rumors and speculation on social media, spread by people falsely claiming to represent law enforcement," Morris County Prosecutor Robert Carroll said.
