Panda Express Opens Its Newest Morristown Location, Joining Morris Marketplace

MORRISTOWN, NJ — Panda Express, a popular Asian restaurant chain, is opening its second location in Morris County, right in Morristown.

The new location can be found at 191 E. Hanover Avenue, in Morristown, at the nearly completed outdoor shopping mall, Morris Marketplace.

On Tuesday, June 13, beginning at 10 a.m., there will be an official ribbon-cutting ceremony with members of the Morris County Chamber of Commerce, as well as a day of giving back for the first 88 guests, who will receive a special gift.

“Our entire Panda team is grateful to serve the Morristown community by providing new jobs and supporting local organizations through fundraising opportunities,” said Nikki Yang, Panda Express Area Coach of Operations. “We hope to be a lasting part of the community and welcome all guests into our doors to try our American Chinese favorites and discover their own.”

Panda Express already has a presence in the county with a restaurant located in Ledgewood, which is an unincorporated community located within Roxbury Township.

Panda Express is the largest Asian-segment restaurant chain in the United States, with over 2,200 locations. It was founded in 1983 by husband and wife Andrew and Peggy Cherng in Glendale, California.

Panda has set out to create multiple employment opportunities for local residents as a family-owned and operated company committed to supporting the communities it serves, offering one of the highest starting wages in the restaurant industry and comprehensive benefits.

Wages begin at $16 per hour for all new front-of-house hires and $17 per hour for all new back-of-house hires.

Local store hours are 10:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. (or until 10 p.m. via drive-thru) Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. (or until 9:30 p.m. via drive-thru) on Sunday.

The new Panda Express is the latest addition to Morris Marketplace, a 20-acre mixed-use development that spans Morris Township and a portion of Morristown.

Morris Marketplace is a 140,000-square-foot strip mall anchored by a brand-new Burlington department store. Other tenants include a Lidl grocery store, Jersey Mike's Subs, Habit Burger, Starbucks, and Orangetheory Fitness.

The suburban shopping destination, which is being built on the former Colgate-Palmolive corporate campus, will also include electric car charging stations, play areas for children, pocket parks, splash pads, seating areas and outdoor dining.
