Pedestrian Struck And Killed On Route 23 ID'd As Morris Co. Man

A 73-year-old man from Lincoln Park was killed on Tuesday when he was hit by a car while attempting to cross the road.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — A 73-year-old man from Morris County died after being hit by a car early Tuesday morning in West Milford, police said.

The Passaic County Prosecutor's Office said the crash happened just before 6 a.m. in the area of NJ Route 23 South.

Officials identified the pedestrian as Mod A. Khader, a 73-year-old from Lincoln Park. Khader was rushed to Chilton Medical Center in Pompton Plains, where he died from his injuries a few hours after the crash, police said.

Police could not provide specific details about the crash but said the incident remained under investigation.

The driver of the vehicle, who has not been identified, stayed at the scene and has not been charged as of Wednesday, according to police.

"More information will be released when it becomes available," Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes said.
