Poor Air Quality Alert Issued In Morris County Wednesday

High temperatures bringing 'air pollution', National Weather Service says.

After cloudy, cool, and wet days to start May, the spring weather is kicking up the temperatures, and with it comes a poor air quality alert Wednesday.

The National Weather Service announced a Code Orange weather alert for May 25, meaning the air pollution concentrations within the region “may become unhealthy for sensitive groups,” the weather service said. “Sensitive groups include children, people suffering from asthma, heart disease or other lung disease, and the elderly.”

The effects of the air pollution can be minimized by avoiding strenuous activity or exercise outdoors, the alert said.
