1K Powerless In Morris County As Storms Roll Through

Residents in Morristown, Mendham, and Parsippany reported outages Monday afternoon, according to Jersey Central Power & Light.

MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — Power outages are impacting residents across Morris County on Monday afternoon.

According to a statement from the area's electric provider, Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L), power outages are currently affecting various towns, including Morristown, Mendham, and Parsippany.

In Morristown, approximately 1,000 customers are without power, JCP&L said. The cause of the outage is currently unknown and is pending investigation. The estimated restoration time for the Morristown area has been set at 7:30 p.m.

In Mendham, there are approximately 1,000 customers without power across four outages. Mendham is currently awaiting the dispatch of JCP&L crews, and the estimated restoration time has been set at 8 p.m.

Parsippany has between 500 and 1,000 customers without power, according to the JCP&L outage map, and is also awaiting the dispatch of JCP&L crews.

Morris County is currently under a severe thunderstorm and flood watch until 9 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
