Real Time Results: Morristown Democratic Primary Results

No Republicans have filed for election in Morristown, setting up an uncontested general election this November.

MORRISTOWN, NJ — Primary Election Day is here in Morristown, and the results are in for the contested races on the Democratic side in two of Morristown's four wards.

Wards 2 and 3 will see contested primaries, while wards 1 and 4 just have one candidate each. The candidates are vying for four-year council terms.

In ward 2, current council vice president Hiliari Davis was defeated by Tawanna Cotten. Davis received 123 votes, while Cotten received 137. Cotten will be unopposed in the general election.

In ward 3, incumbent Stefan Armington bested challenger Steven Pylypchuk. Armington recieved 167 votes, while Pylypchuk took home 49. Armington will be unopposed in the general election.

Oliver M. Starnes is running unopposed for ward 1; Sandi Mayer is running unopposed in ward 4.

Current ward 1 council member Robert Iannaccone and ward 4 council member Alison Deeb did not seek reelection. Their terms both expire on Dec. 31, 2019.

Those who are elected tonight will appear unopposed on the general election ballot come this November. Because there are no Republicans running, those who win tonight will likely be elected come November, barring any write-in candidates.
