Kemet Music and Arts Festival 2
Last September, Jersey City hosted the first Kemet Music and Arts Festival. Organized by civil-rights activists across the state, the event provided a platform for musicians, artists and activists to bring positive encouragement to Black and brown communities. It also provided a way to promote Black and brown businesses dealing with the pandemic.
This year's festival takes place from 2-10 p.m. Saturday at Montclair Brewery. The event will raise funds for an album called "Black is Beautiful." Once the project is completed, 20 percent of all album proceeds, merchandise and performances will aid a Black business in need. Find out more and get tickets here.
Hot Air Balloons
Each night at 6:30 p.m., as long as conditions are ideal, spectators can watch up to 35 hot air balloons rise in the air, when the Warren County Farmers' Fair and Hot Air Balloon Festival kick off on Saturday.
The fair and festival, which are taking place at the Warren County Fairgrounds in Warren County's Harmony Township each day through Saturday, August 7, boasts free parking, no-cost kids' activities, "fairly" priced food offerings and more among its lineup each day.
