Voyeur Who Filmed Employees In Morris Co. Restroom Sentenced
Police said the former owner of the Morris Co. clothing store had 1,900 videos and images from a hidden camera in the employee bathroom.
MORRIS COUNTY, NJ — The former Roxbury store owner who filmed employees in the bathroom and had around 1,900 photos and videos from a hidden camera was sentenced to prison last week, officials announced.
Nicholas Zirpoli, 36, of Lincoln Park, pleaded guilty in May to ten counts of third-degree invasion of privacy and one count of third-degree possession of child pornography. He was accused of hiding a camera in a vent of the employee bathroom at the Plato's Closet resale clothing store in Roxbury, capturing photos and videos of unsuspecting employees.
One of the 11 employees that Zirpoli is accused of recording was underage at the time, authorities previously said.

On Monday, Morris County Prosecutor Robert J. Carroll announced that Zirpoli has been sentenced to three years of probation and 364 days in the Morris County Correctional Facility. As part of his sentence, he was ordered to have no contact with the victims or their families and to continue undergoing psychotherapy.
Employees first reported to police in February 2023 that a hidden camera was found in the bathroom, according to court records. They told police that Zirpoli unplugged the camera, removed it from the vent, and took out the SD card before destroying it.

After obtaining a search warrant on Feb. 27, 2023, police seized 33 items from Zirpoli's home and the Plato's Closet store, including various electronic and storage devices.
Officers found the SD card in Zirpoli's trash can, and he admitted to breaking it intentionally, according to the affidavit. He also confessed to having a folder on his computer containing saved videos and images, some of which he used for sexual gratification, court documents revealed.
Plato’s Closet-Ledgewood has undergone a change in ownership, having been acquired from Zirpoli in May 2024. With this transition, the store is now under new management, and Zirpoli is no longer involved or affiliated with the business.
The Roxbury Township Police Department and the Morris County Prosecutor’s Sex Crimes/Child Endangerment Unit collaborated on this investigation.
