Woman Attacked In Morristown Medical Center Lobby Sues Hospital: Report
Mt. Olive resident cites physical, emotional, monetary damage, report says.

MORRISTOWN, N.J. – The woman who was attacked by a Morristown man in the lobby of Morristown Medical Center has filed suit against the hospital and its parent company, Atlantic Health System.
According to nj.com, Erin Houterman filed the lawsuit in Morris County Superior Court last week, saying she suffered emotional, physical and monetary damages as a result of the hospital’s negligence in providing proper security.
Police responded to a report of an assault in the Morristown Medical Center lobby on Jan. 14, Lt. Stuart Greer said.

An investigation revealed Pyne allegedly approached a Mt. Olive woman, 28, who was in the lobby, and assaulted her, Greer said. While the alleged crime was taking place, a 45-year-old female from Connecticut tried to intervene and was also assaulted as a result, Greer said.
Pyne was charged with aggravated assault and lodged in the Morris County Correctional Facility in lieu of $25,000 bail.
Houterman’s suit alleges the hospital security arrived after attack was over when Pyne was no longer a danger, nj.com reported.
A spokeswoman for Atlantic Health System would not comment to Patch on pending litigation.
