17-Year-Old Accused of Killing Weequahic High Student
Coulibabry Zoumana Wilson was fatally shot Tuesday afternoon during a 'disturbance' on Leslie Street, the prosecutor's office said.
A 17-year-old boy has been accused of killing a Weequahic High School student and may get tried as an adult, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office said.
The Newark teen was arrested Wednesday night and charged with murder, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.
The teen is accused of killing Coulibabry Zoumana Wilson Tuesday afternoon on Leslie Street, the prosecutor's office said. The shooting occurred during a "disturbance" in the 100 block of Leslie Street, the prosecutor's office said.
The alleged shooting has been remanded to the Essex County Youth Detention Facility pending an appearance in the Family Division of the Superior Court. The state may seek to try the teen as an adult, according to Chief Assistant Prosector Thomas Fennelly.
