Grant to Support Documentary of Newark Abbey, St. Benedict's Prep

The Renaissance Newark Foundation in Newark recently received a $20,000 grant from the Horizon Foundation of New Jersey.

The grant will be used to support production and post-production of "The Rule," a feature-length documentary of Newark Abbey and its school, St. Benedict’s Preparatory School, and will be distributed via theater, broadcast, film festivals and screenings. 

St. Benedict’s Preparatory School is operated by Benedictine monks to educate primarily low-income, minority young men from Newark and surrounding communities. 

The documentary will explain the school's approach and demonstrate it as a replicable model.
