Newark's Catholic Charities Receive $20,000 Grant

Horizon Foundation awards Archdiocese's St. Bridget's Health Access and Personal Improvement money for program

Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark recently received a grant of $20,000 from the Horizon Foundation for New Jersey. 

The grant will be used to support the diocese’s St. Bridget’s Health Access and Personal Improvement Project. 

All told, 23 grants totaling $396,000 were dispersed throughout the state to support organizations promoting health and the arts throughout New Jersey.

The grant supports a nurse and nutritionist to provide health services and intensive outreach, ongoing engagement and clinical case management to St. Bridget’s Support Network clients who lack access to primary health care. 

The grant also focuses on ensuring that clients participate in care services and maintain compliance with medical treatment.

"We are proud to support these 23 organizations and the noble goals they are working very hard to achieve," said Robert A. Marino, said chairman of the board of directors of the foundation. "We recognize how these organizations are making a positive difference in the health and quality of life of individuals throughout New Jersey."
