$75K in Heroin Seized From Newark Home, State Police Say

Troopers also take cash, personal items as 36-year-old arrested on money laundering, drugs and weapons charges.

The New Jersey State Police seized hundreds of bricks of heroin and thousands in cash from a Newark home Thursday night, a department spokesman told NJ.com.

The heroin has an estimated street value of $75,000. Police also recovered a loaded gun, $13,000 in cash and luxury items including a fur coat and a diamond bracelet, NJ.com reported.

Pedro Cruz, 36, who lives at the Carteret Street home, was arrested and charged with money laundering as well as drugs and weapons offenses, the article said.

Cruz, who officials said also belongs to a gang, was being held Friday at the Essex County Jail on $350,000 bail, the article said.
