The week ahead on Newark Patch

With the big game now upon us Sunday, there’ll be plenty of Super Bowl-related action in Newark this week, including, on Tuesday, the game’s Media Day, which will be held at the Prudential center. Also on Tuesday, the Newark Museum will be hosting a tailgate party from noon to 8 pm featuring a cash bar and a chance to view the Lombardi Trophy the hardware awarded to the winner of the game. Also this week, the city of Newark will host the annual “Sing in Praise of King” event. The event, to be held Wednesday at 10 am in the council chambers at city hall, 920 Broad St., will feature keynote speaker Dr. Clement Price, the prominent Newark historian, as well as performances by the Newark Boys Chorus’ Apprentice Choir and the Diversity Youth Theater.
