Authorities Investigating Fatal Newark Shooting
19-year-old man found shot on 14th Avenue.
Newark police and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office are investigating the fatal shooting yesterday of a 19-year-old Newark man.
The Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force will investigate the shooting of Dehaven Chatman, officials said.
Chatman was found in front of 20 14th Ave. with a gunshot wound at about 4:35 p.m.

He was pronounced dead at 4:59 p.m. after being taken to University Hospital.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is active and ongoing.
