Booker Joins First Lady, Other Mayors to Promote 'Move' Campaign

Meeting Wednesday in Philadelphia on first lady's youth health initiative

to help promote “Let’s Move!”, the first lady’s campaign to fight childhood obesity through exercise and appropriate diet.

The program received the endorsement of the National League of Cities
as well as support from municipal leaders like Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter.

“More than anything else, these commitments are what ‘Let’s Move! Cities Towns and Counties’ is all about. It’s about supporting leaders like you who on the front line — our mayors — working to solve our childhood obesity epidemic so that all of our children in this country can grow up healthy,” Obama said.

The Booker administration was an early supporter of “Let’s Move!,” with Booker personally interacting with residents to encourage healthier lifestyles.
