Booker to Deliver State of the City Address Tuesday Night
Speech will be Booker's seventh as mayor

Mayor Cory Booker will make his seventh State of the City speech Tuesday at 6 pm at the New Jersey Performing Arts Center. The address will be broadcast live on Channel 78, the city’s government access channel, and will also be live-streamed on the city website (click on the “media” tab and then NWK-TV-78 to view).
Booker is expected to speak about the progress the city has made in economic development and public safety.
During his 2012 speech, Booker announced that the city could expect to see $1 billion in investment over the next several months. In the year since, Newark has welcomed restaurants; a dairy and supermarket, both in the South Ward; the downtown’s first new hotel in 40 years and other businesses.
Also at last year’s speech, members of the Newark Municipal Council abruptly left the stage after Booker upbraided them for failing to support cuts to the council budget, even as other city departments cut costs.
