Christie to Attend Inauguration Service at Newark Church Tuesday

Governor to be sworn in to second term in Trenton later in the day.

Gov. Chris Christie and Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno are scheduled to attend a church service Tuesday morning at New Hope Baptist Church in Newark, the governor's office announced Monday.

The appearance is the first in a series of events scheduled as part of Christie’s inauguration. The Republican won re-election in November in a landslide victory over Democrat Barbara Buono.

Later in the day, Christie will be sworn in to his second term during a ceremony at the Trenton War Memorial. He is scheduled to attend an inaugural gala Tuesday night on Ellis Island.
