City Man Found Guilty of Murder Tuesday

Cleveland had extensive criminal record

A jury Tuesday convicted a city man for gunning down another man in a gang-related almost two years ago, Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn Murray said.

Raheem Cleveland, 33, was also found guilty of attempted murder and weapons offenses and is scheduled to be sentenced June 10. His extensive criminal record includes five prior felony convictions and 13 arrests.

Just after midnight on July 5, 2011 Cleveland shot Marquise Robinson, 28, and Amina Nobles, 27, both of Newark, at point blank range as they stood on the front steps of Robinson’s Osborne Terrace home, killing Robinson.
