Congressional Race Town Hall Debate Scheduled

Seven Seeking to Become 10th District Representative to Congress

All Politics is Local, a show broadcast on WRNU, the Rutgers University radio station, and the Rutgers-Newark campus are sponsoring a 10th District Town Hall Debate at the Rutgers Paul Robeson Center’s multi-purpose room, 350 Martin Luther King Blvd.

The town hall will be held May 24 from 6 to 9 pm.

Six candidates are seeking the Democratic nomination for the seat on June 5, the date of the primary. They are Newark Municipal Council members Donald Payne Jr.. Ron Rice Jr., along with state Sen. Nia Gill, Irvington Mayor Wayne Smith, Dennis Flynn and Cathy Wright.

Brian Keleman is seeking the Republican nomination for the seat.


The goal of the debate and the debate format is for all of the candidates’ positions to be clearly expressed in an open, civil forum.
