Cops Search For Shooters After Drive-By Gunfire At Newark Apartment Complex

Authorities say the Bradley Court apartments have seen other recent crimes, including fatal shootings and an "open-air narcotics market."

NEWARK, NJ — Newark police are searching for four suspects who allegedly wounded a man in a drive-by shooting at a local apartment complex, authorities announced Monday.

According to the Newark Department of Public Safety, officers responded to Bradley Court on North Munn Avenue on Nov. 27 after getting a call about gunfire.

Police found a man with a gunshot wound to his leg at the scene. Officers also found 18 shell casings from 9mm firearms in the area.

Surveillance video footage shows four suspects firing several shots from a white Honda Accord around 7:50 p.m. The vehicle was recovered in Perth Amboy on Dec. 21, police said (see photos below).

The Bradley Court apartment complex – which is located on North Munn Avenue between South Orange Avenue and Tremont Avenue – has been the site of other recent crimes, authorities say.

In 2020, a 21-year-old woman was fatally shot at the complex.

In 2021, a group of nine Newark residents were accused of taking part in a drug distribution ring that sold fentanyl and cocaine in an “open-air narcotics market” near the apartments.

In 2023, a man fatally shot his friend after an argument at Bradley Court.

In July, federal prosecutors announced charges against 24 people who were allegedly involved in a drug ring that sold fentanyl, heroin and crack at the complex.
