Essex County College Hosting Pre-Kwanzaa Celebration Thursday

Essex County College (ECC) will present a Pre-Kwanzaa celebration Thursday at the main campus, 303 University Ave. The free program will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Mary Burch Theater.

The Universal African Dance & Drum Ensemble, of Camden, will perform during the celebration. This year’s theme is "Bringing Our People Together."

In addition to the ensemble, the program will feature poetry readings, discussions, ECC student presentations and songs.

The program is co-sponsored by the college’s Africana Institute and the Student Life & Activities Office, in conjunction with ECC’s Hip Hop Student Association, African Students Association, Dominican Student Association, Haitian Student Association, International Students Association, and the Caribbean Student Association.
