Essex-Hudson Jack and Jill To Host 10th Anniversary Fundraiser
Essex Hudson Chapter of Jack and Jill celebrates its 10th anniversary on Saturday, October 8.

NEWARK, NJ – The Essex Hudson Chapter of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. will commemorate its 10th anniversary on Saturday, October 8 by way of a fundraising celebration in support of New Jersey SEEDS, Jubilee Center of Hoboken, Interfaith Hospitality Network and Jack and Jill Foundation at The Avenue A Club in Newark, NJ.
The event will feature cocktails accompanying hors d ’Oeuvres, antique cars, an auction and a private Cigar and Cognac Room. Live instrumental music will be performed by saxophonist, composer and producer Tyrone Birkett. Dancing will be complimented by the sounds of DJ J. Period, a hip-hop traditionalist and award-winning mixtape DJ who has generated praise from MTV, Vibe and Billboard. Essex Hudson Associate Member, award-winning actress, singer and producer Suzzanne Douglas will be the event’s Mistress of Ceremonies.

Organizers say that the Essex Hudson 10th Anniversary Fundraising Celebration will show appreciation to organizations that have made a positive influence on the community. New Jersey SEEDS (Scholars, Educators, Excellence, Dedication, Success) is a nonprofit organization founded in 1992 that prepares motivated, high-achieving, low-income students for admission to private schools and colleges across the country. The Jubilee Center began in 1996 as a homework club for children in Hoboken’s public housing community. Since then, the program has expanded into a year-round safe haven for Hudson County’s most vulnerable youth.
Interfaith Hospitality Network of Essex County is a nonprofit organization that provides shelter, professional support services and housing assistance so homeless families can find and sustain a new home.

The Essex Hudson 10th Anniversary Fundraising Celebration will also benefit the Jack and Jill Foundation. As the philanthropic arm of Jack and Jill of America, Inc. it supports and invests in services, programs and organizations that focus on impacting the underlying issues affecting African American children and families. Since its inception in 1968, the Jack & Jill of America, Inc. Foundation has distributed millions of dollars to communities all across America.
