Films Pack an Anti-Smoking Message on 'Kick Butts Day' March 20

Films created by students highlighting the harmful effects of tobacco will be shown in Newark Wednesday, March 20, which has been designated “Kick Butts Day” by anti-smoking activists. 

Creative Spirits of the State of New Jersey will also be premiering a film entitled “Out of the Mouth of Babes,” directed by Frank Hooker, an NAACP-award-winning filmmaker. There will also be screenings of short films created by and starring children from East Orange, Montclair and Newark.

Showtimes are 2, 4 and 6 pm at CityPlex 12, 360-294 Springfield Ave. There will be a reception following the 6 pm screening. Admission is free.
