Flooding Disrupts Routes 1 & 9 In Central Jersey
Flooding has disrupted traffic on several high-traffic routes that connect to the New Jersey Turnpike.

ESSEX and MIDDLESEX COUNTIES, NJ — Flooding caused by Saturday's heavy rains has disrupted traffic on roads that connect to the Garden State Parkway and the New Jersey Turnpike.
Flooding closed the northbound ramp from the truck lanes of Routes 1 & 9 to the New Jersey Turnpike, according to 511nj.org, the state Department of Transportation website.
In addition, there is flooding on the Routes 1 & 9 northbound ramp to the Routes 1 & 9 truck route and the Pulaski Skyway, resulting in one lane being closed, the site said.

There is flooding on the I-280 eastbound ramps to Exit 17A for Kearny, with all lanes closed, and flooding and a missing manhole cover has closed one lane northbound on Route 35 in Woodbridge Township, south of Route 27, the site said.
The area received nearly 3 inches of rain in Saturday's storm that drenched much of the East Coast.

Drivers should not try to drive through flooded roads, as there can be hidden dangers and the water can be deeper than it appears.
