Free Internet For Residents Of Senior Housing Building In Newark

"In this day and age, internet is an essential service that everyone deserves access to."

NEWARK, NJ — Dozens of people living in a senior housing building in Newark are now able to hook up to free, high-speed wireless internet through a new partnership between Andrena and the Hudson Valley Property Group (HVPG), spokespeople recently announced.

Residents of Lincoln Park Towers, a 17-story building with 80 units of affordable senior housing, won’t have to buy any extra hardware or schedule installation appointments. They’ll be able to instantly connect to the internet after signing up for service on Andrena’s website and creating their own personal and secure wifi network name and password.

“It's a fantastic service and an amazing idea,” said Christopher Pollitt, a resident at Lincoln Park Towers, who added that his neighbors “all love it.”

According to a news release, the HVPG is funding the cost of installation and ongoing fees related to internet services throughout the property. It is the second of four wifi installations expected to be completed this year across the company’s portfolio of affordable housing.

“Providing free, reliable high-speed internet supports education, employment opportunities and access to other valuable programming uplifts our resident communities,” said partner and co-founder Andrew Cavaluzzi.
