4 NJ Teens Charged With Assault, Kidnapping Of 13-Year-Old Girl: Officials

The 13-year-old victim said several acquaintances held her at gunpoint and tried to sexually assault her at a North Jersey hotel on Sunday.

HARRISON, NJ — Officials charged four teenagers who are accused of holding a 13-year-old girl at gunpoint in a Hudson County hotel room and trying to sexually assault her.

Newark Police got a report early Sunday morning that the girl was being held against her will at a hotel on Passaic Avenue in Harrison, said Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez. Officers located the 13-year-old, who said several acquaintances locked her in the room and attacked her, while also trying to sexually assault her.

The victim said weapons were present in the room, and investigators later recovered two handguns and hollow point bullets, Suarez said.

Suarez announced charges against four Newark residents, two 15-year-olds and two 18-year-olds, on Monday.

The 15-year-old girls were charged as juveniles with kidnapping, conspiracy to kidnap, attempted sexual assault, simple assault, and weapons offenses. Tavin McCullough and Kyle Green, both 18, face child endangerment and weapons charges.
