The Ironbound Community Corporation (ICC), a nonprofit dedicated to improving the quality of life for those living in the Ironbound section of Newark, is getting an educational boost thanks to a $3,500 grant recently provided by The Provident Bank Foundation.
The donation will help support the organization’s after-school program, where more than 100 K-7 students receive help with homework and participate in social activities, such as community service projects and peer group discussions.
“We are so grateful for The Provident Bank Foundation’s support of our organization and for recognizing the need for these types of programs in our community,” said Joseph Della Fave, executive director of the Ironbound Community Corporation.
The ICC serves nearly one thousand people daily with a broad array of programs and services, including infant and toddler care, preschool, adult education, family services, senior citizen services, environmental justice, and community and economic development.
“We are so pleased to support the Ironbound Community Corporation in its mission to empower residents and help provide a better quality of life for all individuals living in the Ironbound section of Newark,” said Kendall Warsaw, executive director of The Provident Bank Foundation. “After-school programs like this are vital to keeping kids in school and helping them succeed, and we are happy to help in this way.”
