Link Community School is Now Tuition-Free
Middle school accepting applications for 2013-14 school year
Link Community School, 23 Pennsylvania Ave., will be free for all students as of the 2013-14 school year, Link officials announced.
The independent, nondenominational middle school, which serves seventh- and eighth-graders, previously assessed tuition on a sliding scale based on families’ ability to pay. But thanks to donations, the school can now offer admission free.
“Link families received the news first last week and were very enthusiastic about how this supports their goals and opens our doors to many more families in and around Newark,” said Greg Silver, the school’s director of admissions.
The school is now accepting applications for the 2013-14 academic year. A few opening remain for the eighth grade class as well. To obtain an application, click here or call Greg Silver at 973-642-0529, ext. 24, or email him here.
The school was founded in 1969 by the Dominican Sisters of Caldwell to offer inner-city youth a rigorous education featuring small class sizes and outdoor activities.
