A 26-year-old Newark resident was killed Monday in what authorities are describing as a targeted shooting.
Jamal Richardson was shot shortly before 4 pm along the 800 block of Clinton Avenue, the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office said. He was pronounced dead at University Hospital about two-and-a-half hours later.
No arrests have been made. The investigation is active and ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office tips hotline at 1-877-847-7432.
