A 46-year-old city man was walking home from work when he was shot and killed late last night, the Essex County Prosecutor's Office announced today.
Daniel Asitimbay was near his home on the 200 block of Ridge Street when he was shot at 11:35 pm Feb. 14. He was pronounced dead at University Hospital shortly past midnight this morning.
The investigation is active and ongoing. No arrests have been made, Newark police and the prosecutor's office said.
