The Essex County Prosecutor's Office this weekend has identified a man who was shot and killed in the Central Ward early Friday morning.
Tariq Johnson, 30, of Newark, was hit by gunfire aroud 2 am on Morris Avenue near Hartford Street. He was pronounced dead shorty afterwards.
The shooting remains under investigation.
