Murder Suspect Turns Himself in After Mistakenly Being Released Tuesday
Officials will investigate how man facing murder charges came to be freed

The suspect in a 2010 murder who was freed from jail Tuesday due to a paperwork snafu voluntarily returned to custody Wednesday, Nj.com reported.
Ishmael Scott appeared at court in Newark at 9 am with his attorney to stand trial, along with two other men, for the murder of Hope Williams. The 33-year-old woman was shot and killed in Newark June 19, 2010.
Scott was imprisoned on the murder charge as well as for drug offenses, but was released by order of the state after serving enough time on the drug charges. The 24-year-old was also being held on $1 million for the murder charge, but that bail judgement had not been listed with county corrections officials, an oversight that apparently led to his premature release.
The circumstances of Scott’s mistaken release will be investigated, Nj.com also reported.
