Newark City Council OKs Tax Abatement For Robert Treat Hotel: Report

NEWARK, NJ — A 30-year tax abatement has been granted for the Robert Treat Hotel in Newark.
On Wednesday, the Newark City Council greenlighted a tax abatement for Robert Treat Urban Renewall Inc., a subsidiary of the Berger Organization. The owner of the property had been seeking a tax agreement to help pay for renovations to the property – a local landmark, NJ Advance Media reported.
