Newark Company Cited for Alleged Safety Violations
Welco faces nearly $50,000 in fines

A Newark firm has been cited by federal officials for a raft of alleged workplace safety violations, the US Department of Labor announced this week.
Welco Acetylene Corp. on Roanoke Avenue faces nearly $50,000 in proposed fines, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration said.
“The safety hazards found at Welco’s facility put its workers at serious risk of injury and must be addressed promptly,” said Kris Hoffman, director of OSHA’s regional office in Parsippany. “Employers are responsible for implementing proper procedures to protect their workers and ensure a safe workplace.”
